4. Storm in the Royal court

Hello my Readerlog!!!,

Guys atleast give a vote. Its takes a lot to write a chapter. I write atleast 1600 words in a page. Your vote will not cost you anything but for me it is a motivation.

The air in the grand hall of Maitryashila was thick with tension, a palpable unease that gripped the hearts of all present.

An unexpected arrow had pierced through the ornate drapery, quivering dangerously close to where Myranshi Singh Chandravya stood. The guards, caught between their duty and the chaos, rushed to secure the perimeter, while whispers of fear coursed through the assembled nobles like wildfire.

"Who dares to interrupt this sacred ceremony?" Mahiraj's voice boomed, echoing off the stone walls. His gaze swept through the crowd, searching for the source of the attack.

"You already know, Pitaji... there has only ever been one person in this empire fearless enough to stand against you—Neeladitya Bhai sa." Swastik scoffed, his eyes filled with restrained fury as he looked around the Rajsabha.

"And she is his wife."

His voice softened for a brief moment, carrying an unshaken respect for Kunwarani Samiya.

"She may not have given birth to us, but me, Lakshyaveer and Myranshi were hers long before fate turned cruel. She raised us with her own hands, protected us like a mother shields her firstborn, and loved us as though we carried her own blood within our veins."

Swastik stepped forward, gripping the sword tighter.

"She stayed in this palace after losing her husband not for power... not for the throne... but for us. Because we were the last living pieces of Neeladitya Bhai sa left beside her."

His gaze locked onto Maharaj's with burning intensity.

"And now you are threatening the very children she swore to protect. So tell us, Pitaji..."

A dangerous smile touched his lips.

"What exactly did you expect her to do? Stand silently while you destroy the only reason she still survives in this palace?"

The massive doors of the Rajsabha slowly creaked open.

Every head turned instantly.

And the moment she entered—

Fear spread through the Sabha (Royal court) like poison.

Clad in black battle armour adorned with silver engravings, she walked into the hall with the calmness of someone who did not fear kings, kingdoms, or death itself. A crimson cape flowed behind her shoulders while a bow rested firmly in her hand.

The same bow from which the arrow had been released.

A sword hung against her waist.
A quiver full of arrows rested upon her back.

And beside her—

Walked the gigantic lion.

Its paws struck against the marble floor with terrifying force as low growls vibrated through the hall. The beast's amber eyes scanned the Sabha slowly, making several guards step back instinctively.

The wounded soldier upon the floor paled instantly after seeing her.

Because now everyone understood.

Whoever dared harm them...

Had invited death into the Rajsabha itself.

She continued walking forward.

Clank.

Clank.

The metallic sound of her armour echoed in the suffocating silence. Her expression remained calm, yet her eyes—

Her eyes carried enough fury to burn empires.

The lion suddenly stopped beside the injured guard.

A deep growl escaped its throat.

The man froze in terror.

She did not even glance at him.

Instead, her gaze lifted toward the throne where the Maharaj stood burning with rage.

Then calmly—

She pulled another arrow from the quiver behind her back.

The entire Sabha stiffened.

Guards immediately raised their weapons.

But her face showed no fear.

Only warning.

Her fingers rested against the bowstring as she spoke, voice cold enough to silence every heartbeat inside the hall.

"Humne sirf uske haath par teer chalaya tha, Maharaj."

"We only shot his hand, Maharaj."

A pause.

Then her gaze shifted toward the trembling soldiers surrounding Myranshi.

"Kyuki jis haath ne Rajkumari sa ko chhune ka apradh kiya..."

"Because the hand that committed the crime of touching Rajkumari sa..."

The bowstring tightened slowly.

"...agar hum chahte..."

"...if I have desired..."

The lion growled.

"...toh woh haath ab tak dhad se alag ho chuka hota."

"...that hand would have already been lying on the floor, separated from his body."

"You have no right to come here!"

The King's furious roar shook the pillars of the Rajsabha itself.

His eyes burned with humiliation and rage as he pointed toward her standing figure in the center of the court.

"Get out. Right now!"

The soldiers immediately tightened their grip upon their weapons, though none dared move closer.

Not with the lion standing beside her.

Not with that bow still resting in her hands.

"You attacked a royal guard inside the Rajsabha," the Maharaj thundered again. "This is treason against the crown! And for this offence, you shall receive the harshest punishment!"

The entire Sabha fell into suffocating silence.

Every gaze shifted toward her.

Waiting.

Watching.

Wondering whether she would finally bow before the throne.

But instead—

She laughed softly.

A dangerous laugh.

The kind that carried no amusement, only disbelief.

The sound alone unsettled the ministers.

Her fingers slowly released the bowstring as she tilted her head slightly, staring directly at the Maharaj without even a trace of fear upon her face.

Then—

She took another step forward.

Clank.

The sound of her armour echoed sharply across the Sabha.

The lion beside her growled lowly, its amber eyes fixed upon the guards surrounding the royal family.

"You speak of rights, Maharaj?" she asked calmly.

The softness of her voice somehow felt more threatening than shouting.

Her gaze slowly drifted toward the wounded guard writhing upon the floor before returning to the throne.

"Interesting."

Another step.

Clank.

"Hamare Baccho par talwar uthana rajmaryada tha?"

Her eyes hardened instantly.

"Rajmata ko bandi banana nyay tha?"

A sharp silence spread across the Sabha.

Several ministers lowered their heads.

Because nobody possessed answers to her questions.

The Maharaj's jaw clenched with fury.

"Apni seema m rahiye Kunwarani sa!"

"Do not overstep your boundaries, Kunwarani sa!"

The moment those words left his mouth—

She stopped walking.

And for the first time since entering the Sabha...

The calmness disappeared from her face.

What remained behind was something far more terrifying.

Wrath.

Pure.
Controlled.
Royal wrath.

In one swift motion, she slammed the arrow against the marble floor beside her.

The sound cracked through the Sabha like thunder.

The lion roared instantly.

Several guards stumbled backward in fear.

Then her cold voice echoed through the hall—

"Seema?"

" boundaries?"

She smiled.

A terrifyingly calm smile.

"Maharaj... jis din aapke suputra ne humari marzi ke viruddh humse vivah kiya tha, usi din seemaon ki baat karne ka adhikar iss Rajparivar ne kho diya tha."

"Maharaj... the day your son forced this marriage upon us against our will, that was the day all boundaries ceased to matter."

Her hand slowly moved toward the sword resting against her waist.

Not drawing it.

Just enough to remind everyone that she could.

"At that moment," she continued coldly, "we earned every right to stand in this Rajsabha."

The torches flickered violently as the tension inside the hall became unbearable.

Her sharp gaze shifted toward the soldiers surrounding Myranshi.

"And as for punishment..."

Another step forward.

The guards instinctively backed away.

"...hum dand se nahi darte."

"I am not afraid of punishment"

A pause.

Then she looked directly into the Maharaj's eyes.

"But if protecting my children is truly considered a crime in this Sabha..."

Her fingers curled around the hilt of her sword.

"...toh hum yeh apradh baar baar karenge."

...then this is a crime I will commit every single time."

The Rajsabha remained frozen in suffocating silence after Samiya's final words.

Even the torches seemed afraid to flicker too loudly.

Then suddenly—

The lion sneezed.

A loud, dramatic sneeze.

The entire Sabha flinched.

Samiya calmly looked down at the beast and sighed.

"Dekha?" she muttered while patting its mane. "Humne kaha tha na Rajsabha ki hawa kharab h."

"See? Didn't I say the air in this Rajsabha was corrupted?"

Swastik immediately bent his head, shoulders shaking violently with suppressed laughter.

Maharaj's face darkened further.

"Yeh mazaak chal raha h kya?!"

"Do you take this Rajsabha for a joke?!"

Samiya blinked innocently.

"Mazaak?"

"Joke?"

She slowly looked around the Sabha.

"Maharaj, mazaak toh tab shuru hua tha jab aapne socha tha ki hum chupchap yeh sab dekhte rahenge."

"Maharaj, the real joke began the moment you assumed I would stand here silently and watch all this unfold."

A minister accidentally coughed to hide his laugh.

The Maharaj glared at him so hard that the poor man instantly pretended to faint.

Samiya watched him thoughtfully.

"Rajvaidya ko bula lijiye."

"Summon the royal physician."

Everyone stiffened.

"Bechare Mantri ji sach sunte hi behosh hone lage hain."

"Poor Minister... the truth seems to make him faint."

Lakshyaveer immediately turned toward the pillar, laughing silently.

Maharaj pointed furiously toward the lion.

"Aur yeh sher?! Isse turant bahar nikaliye!"

"And this lion?! Remove it from the Rajsabha at once!"

Samiya frowned slightly.

"And why exactly?"

"BECAUSE THAT BEAST IS DANGEROUS!"

She looked down at the lion.

The lion lazily rolled onto the marble floor like an oversized cat.

Samiya looked back at Maharaj.

"Humein toh yeh Rajsabha ke kai logon se zyada shareef lag raha h."

"To me, this lion appears far more civilized than many people in this Rajsabha."

Swastik lost the battle entirely and burst out laughing.

Even a few guards lowered their heads to hide smiles.

Maharaj looked seconds away from ordering everyone's execution.

"Kunwarani Samiya!" he thundered. "You are crossing your limits!"

Samiya gasped dramatically.

"Limits?"

She placed a hand upon her chest.

"Maharaj hum toh gyarah saal se iss mahal m reh rahe hain."

"Maharaj, I have been living in this palace for eleven years."

A pause.

"Agar sab log apni hadh m rehte na..."

"If everyone had stayed within their limits..."

Her eyes sharpened meaningfully.

"...toh aaj humein sher lekar Rajsabha m aana hi nahi padta."

"...then I would not have needed to bring a lion into the Rajsabha today."

The Sabha went dead silent.

Then—

Swastik slapped his forehead and started laughing again.

The Maharaj inhaled sharply through his nose.

"Aapko dand diya jayega."

"You will pay dearly for this defiance."

Samiya nodded seriously.

"Thik h."

"Alright" The immediate agreement confused everyone.

Then she continued calmly—

"Before punishing me, I suggest you make a list first."

The Maharaj frowned.

"A list of what?"

Samiya smiled sweetly.

"Un sab logon ki jinhone iss Rajparivar m anyay kiya h."

"Of everyone who has committed injustice within this royal family."

She glanced around the Sabha.

"Kyuki agar sach m dand milna shuru hua na..."

"Because if punishment truly begins to be given..."

Another pause.

"...toh sabse pehle yeh Rajsabha aadhi khaali ho jayegi."

"...then most of the people standing here today would not remain in this Sabha for long."
