-:The southern part of the Palace:-
"Rani sa, aaj Rajsabha m kya hoga? Kya Kunwar Swastik aaj Rajabhishek sampurn hone denge? Humein bhay lg rha h!!! " one of the maid of the Palace asked.
"Rani sa, what will happen in the Rajsabha today? Will Kunwar Swastik allow the coronation to be completed? We are frightened!!!"
"Iska uttar to hum aapko baad m denge parantu humne aapko kitni baar smjhaya h? Aap hamari sakhi h. Aap Humein rani sa na bulaya karein. hum aapki abhi bhi whi 'Bai sa' hi h jaise aap hame vivah se purv bulaya krti thi" replied Maharani Kshamta Mahiraj Singh Chandravya of the Maitryashila, making an adorable pout at her only childhood friend Sabhyata.
"We shall answer that later, but how many times have I explained this to you? You are my friend. Do not call me 'Rani sa.' I am still the same 'Bai sa' to you... just as you used to call me before my marriage."
"Uske liye to hum aapse maafi maang lenge parantu, bai sa, aap aisa muh banati hui acchi nhi lgati. Aapki naak lambi lgti h." Sabhyata replied teasingly while pinching Kshamta's nose, before bursting into laughter.
"For that, I shall apologize to you later, Bai sa... but you do not look good making that face. Your nose starts looking longer."
Kshamta smiled softly at Sabhyata's words, but deep within her heart, a storm of worry raged endlessly. Her mind was not at peace today.
She knew her children far too well. None of them would allow today's Rajsabha to conclude peacefully.
Kunwar Swastik was short-tempered and impulsive; anger ruled him before wisdom ever could. She was certain he would create chaos the moment matters turned against his will.
But what frightened her even more were Kunwari Myranshi and Kunwar Lakshyaveer.
Swastik's fury was visible, predictable even... yet those two were entirely different. Silent storms. Unreadable minds. Unpredictable actions. No one could ever foresee what they were truly planning behind those calm expressions.
And if the trio stood together today... then destruction was inevitable.
Not merely a disturbance in the Rajsabha—
but a disaster powerful enough to shake the very foundation of Maitryashila itself.
Kshamta was not only worried for her children anymore.
She was worried for her kingdom.
Because the price of today's conflict might become far greater than any of them were prepared to pay.
"Maasa"-a feminie voice called from behind.
"Mother"
Kshamta turned instantly, already knowing the owner of that voice, and a soft smile appeared upon her lips.
Myranshi entered Kshamta's vasagriha(Chamber) draped in garments that carried both royalty and ruin upon their threads. A dark angarkha, embroidered with intricate silver patterns, clung firmly to her tall frame, its edges slightly torn from countless merciless battle practices. A sword remained secured at her waist as though she were entering a battlefield instead of a Rajsabha.
Over it rested a heavy armor of blackened steel, engraved with the emblem of h erkingdom, reflecting the faint glow of the torches around her.
"Pranam Maasa aur maasi sa"- Myranshi greeted respectfully, bowing her head slightly before them.
"Greetings Mother and Maternal Aunt."
The moment Kshamta's eyes fell completely upon her attire, the softness on her face vanished into helpless disappointment.
"Y kya pahan rkha h aaj aapne. Aaj aapke bhaisa ka Rajyabhishek hoga aur apne yoddha k vastra dharan kr rakhe h. Sabhyata, inhe samaroh ke anusar vastra dijiye. Hum kya karein aapka? Aap hamari sunti kyun nahi hain?""- Kshamta sighed disappointingly.
"What are you wearing today? Your brother's coronation is taking place, and you are dressed in a warrior's attire. Sabhyata, bring her clothes suitable for the ceremony. What am I supposed to do with you? Why do you never listen to me?"
Myranshi merely smirked faintly before stepping closer toward her mother.
"Maasa... aap aisa vyavahar kyun kar rahi hain? Aap humein bahut acche se jaanti hain... aur yeh bhi jaanti hain ki aaj Rajsabha mein kya hone wala hai."
"Maasa... why are you behaving like this? You know me very well... and you also know what is going to happen in the Rajsabha today."
Her sharp eyes darkened with dangerous calmness.
"Aapko humein rokna nahi chahiye... balki vijay ka aashirvaad dena chahiye."
"You should not be trying to stop me... instead, you should be blessing me with victory."
Kshamta narrowed her eyes at Myranshi from head to toe before folding her arms across her chest.
"Vijay ka aashirvaad?" Maasa let out a faint, bitter smile. "Pehle yeh bataiye ki aap Rajsabha mein jaa rahi hain ya yuddh bhoomi mein?" Myranshi placed a hand dramatically over her heart.
"A blessing for victory? First tell me this—are you going to the royal court... or to a battlefield?"
"Maasa, aap humein itna kam samajhti hain? Hum dono jagah ke liye hamesha taiyaar rehte hain." Sabhyata immediately snorted, trying hard to suppress her laughter.
"Maasa, do you think so little of me? I am always prepared for both."
Kshamta glared at her daughter. "Aur yeh talwar? Rajyabhishek mein kya phalon kaatne ka vichar hai aapka?"
"And this sword? Do you plan on cutting fruits during the coronation?"
"Avashyakta padne par logon ke ahankaar bhi kaat sakte hain," Myranshi replied innocently.
"If necessary... it can cut through people's arrogance as well."
Sabhyata burst out laughing while Kshamta closed her eyes dramatically as if praying for patience.
"Hey prabhu... iss kanya ko buddhi dijiye."
"Oh Gods... please grant this girl some wisdom."
"Buddhi to hai Maasa," Myranshi said proudly, "isi liye to kavach pehen kar aaye hain. Rajsabha mein aaj shabd kam aur hathiyaar zyada chalne wale hain."
"I do have wisdom, Mother, That is precisely why I came wearing armor. Today, in the Rajsabha, words will be fewer... and weapons far more."
"Aapko har samasya ka samadhan hinsa hi kyun lagta hai?" Kshamta snapped.
"Why does violence seem like the solution to every problem for you?"
Myranshi tilted her head thoughtfully. "Kyuki shanti se samjhaane ka kaarya to Bhaisa ne kab ka chhod diya hai."
"Because Bhaisa abandoned the path of peaceful persuasion long ago."
Sabhyata coughed loudly to hide another laugh.
Kshamta pointed a warning finger toward her daughter. "Hum pehle hi chintit hain, aur aap humein aur bhaybheet kar rahi hain."
"I am already worried, and you are frightening us even more."
"Bhaybheet?" Myranshi gasped dramatically. "Maasa, aapko humse darr lagta hai?"
"Afraid? Mother, are you afraid of me?"
"Humein aapse nahi... aap teenon ke ek saath hone se darr lagta hai."
"I am not afraid of you... I am afraid of what happens when the three of you are together."
Myranshi grinned mischievously. "Toh aaj Rajsabha bahut manoranjak hone wali hai."
"Then today's royal court is going to be very entertaining."
"Myranshi!"
"Accha theek hai," she raised both hands innocently. "Hum keval tabhi ashanti failayenge agar koi pehle humein krodhit kare."
"I will create chaos only if someone provokes my anger first."
Kshamta stared at her silently for a moment. "Yaani Rajsabha shuru hone se pehle hi samapt samjhein hum?"
"So should I consider the royal court finished before it has even begun?"
Even Sabhyata failed to control herself this time and laughed loudly while Myranshi looked utterly offended.
"Maasa, aap humari chhavi kharab kar rahi hain."
"Mother, you are ruining my reputation."
"Aapki koi achhi chhavi hai bhi?" Kshamta replied instantly.
"Do you even have a good reputation to ruin?"
"Maasa... don't you know why the three of us siblings stand so firmly against this coronation?" she asked softly, her voice trembling beneath restrained emotion.
"Mother..."
Kshamta looked at her daughter with moist eyes, as though the answer had always haunted her heart long before the question was ever spoken.
She nodded silently, her gaze lowered as tears gathered in her eyes.
Gently, her daughter lifted her mother's face, her fingers trembling ever so slightly against her skin.
"Maasa," she whispered softly, forcing her voice to remain steady, "I promise you... whatever happens today, it will be for the good of the Maitryashila."
"Mother..."
Suddenly Kshamta twisted her ears "You have learned very well from Lakshyaveer — weaving webs of words and trapping people within them."
"Maasa leave me " At that, all of them burst into laughter, the heaviness in the chamber easing for a fleeting moment.
The moment Kshamta released her ear, Myranshi darted away from there at once, escaping before anyone could catch her again.
"And you are standing here laughing?" she said in mock annoyance. "My children are spoiled entirely because of you."
Sabhyata raised her hands in surrender before Kshamta, desperately trying to suppress her laughter, though the amusement still shimmered clearly in her eyes.
So, my lovely readers, the chapter ends here only as the next chapter will be Rajsabha and I can't leave it in the middle. I hope you guys are loving this book. It has been 2nd chapter still our main leads are missing.
I will introduce them as early as possible. Till then enjoy.
